bataille continue , ralis par Benot Bertrand-Cadi et diffus par Canal + le
12 dcembre dernier, a suscit la raction outre dune poigne de sommits
archologiques. Ces personnalits dnoncent dans un communiqu ce quelles
regardent comme des omissions volontaires de la part des auteurs du film ; mais
elles se gardent bien daborder le cur du problme.</strong></p>
<p>Quon me laisse donc reprendre, la vole, les griefs formuls par les
signataires.</p>
<p>1. Ils reprochent aux auteurs de glisser sur la prsence, au Mont-Auxois,
dun mur qualifi par eux, un peu vite, de murus gallicus ainsi que
dun habitat antrieur la Conqute. Comme si lexistence, au demeurant
sujette controverse, de tels vestiges, offrait la moindre lumire sur
lidentit des lieux.</p>
<p>2. Dans le mme ordre dides, les signataires dplorent que les
photographies ariennes du site dAlise-Sainte-Reine par M. Ren Goguey aient
t ngliges dans le film. Cest confrer une porte indue des clichs qui,
sils mettent en vidence les indubitables vestiges militaires romains du
Mont-Auxois, ne permettent nullement de les identifier, et moins encore dy
retrouver les ouvrages dcrits dans les Commentaires</p>
<p>3. Quant loubli des rarissimes monnaies leffigie de Vercingtorix ,
il aurait plutt d soulager les signataires : M. Michel Redd lui-mme ne
reconnat-il pas au fameux statre dor une provenance bien loigne dAlise ?</p>
<p>On aurait aim, au-del de ces griefs un peu vains, voir les donneurs de
leons apporter, ne serait-ce quun dbut de rponse toutes les grandes
questions en suspens. Je me tiens du reste la disposition des signataires qui
souhaiteraient organiser un dbat public sur cet important sujet ; mais je
doute fort que lun dentre eux sy risque jamais.</p>
<p>Au fond, il est navrant que des personnalits minentes mettent leur titre,
leur autorit, leur poids moral au service, non de la vrit ou dune recherche
de vrit, mais dune cause officielle cule, absurde, chaque jour plus
douteuse et friable. Tant il est vrai que rien, aujourdhui, ne permet plus de
situer srieusement Alsia en Bourgogne.</p>

ne se grandit nier une vidence ; et lorsque, tt ou tard, certains travaux
en cours viendront confirmer de manire dfinitive les conclusions dAndr
Berthier sur la localisation dAlsia dans le Jura, le jugement de la postrit
sera sans indulgence pour celles et ceux qui, bien quavertis, auront us leur
influence retarder la manifestation de la vrit.</p>
