mais aussi Kerprvost ou Kerprovost, tire son nom de "prevositum"
le prvt. Le nom serait attest dans le Cartulaire de Redon. Le lieu
a appartenu une communaut religieuse qui en a fait don la
commune de Locoal. Le hameau est surtout connu pour les deux dolmens qui
se trouvent un centaine de mtres l'ouest du site: les dolmens
couloir de Roh er Lann. (</font><i><font size="1">cf Le guide des

<p><font size="2">Personne dans le hameau voisin ne se souvient d'une
quelconque construction cet endroit le plus lev du lieu (16 m).</font></p>

trouv lors du dgagement de la loge 1 pouvait laisser penser qu'il
s'agissait
d'un point d'appui de la Rsistance lors des oprations lies la
poche de Lorient dont une des limites tait la rivire d'Etel toute
proche. Le Pont-Lorois se trouve quelques centaines de mtres.

<p style="text-indent: 30" align="justify"><font size="2">Les activits de talutages et de relevs
d'enceintes dans la fort de Carnot ont repris, la suite de la
redcouverte par un socitaire, Rmy Toupin, d'une enceinte lie
un vaste rseau de talus, fosss et terrasses qui avait chapp
la sagacit des premiers dcouvreurs du site (Roger Bertrand et
quelques autres membres de la SAHPL).</font>
<p style="text-indent: 30" align="justify"><font size="2">Le site</font></p>
<p style="text-indent: 30" align="justify"><font size="2">Situe sur une hauteur au sud de la fort, il s'agit
d'une enceinte rectangulaire de 45 m de long sur 25 m de large, borde
sur ses quatre cts de talus et de fosss encore bien visibles.
Quelques destructions ont t occasionns par le passage d'engins
forestiers mais la strucuture rest bien lisible. Le grand axe est
orient NNE-SSW 34 environ et prsente une lgre pente de 3
4, l'entre large de 3,5/4 m se trouvant au bas de cette dclivit.
</font></p>
<p style="text-indent: 30" align="justify"><font size="2">Talus et fosss</font></p>
<p style="text-indent: 30" align="justify"><font size="2">Assez bien conservs malgr les dgts dus aux
engins forestiers, ils mesurent en moyenne de 0,8 m 1 m de haut au
dessus du sol l'intrieur de l'enceinte et leur talement est en
moyenne de 3,5 4,5 m. Le talus le plus lev est situ dans le coin
NE, partie de l'enceinte o l'on trouve une grande abondance de
pierres et de blocs anguleux. Vestiges d'un construction ou
soubassements d'une construction en bois?</font></p>
<p style="text-indent: 30" align="justify"><font size="2">Les fosss bien marqus tout autour de l'enceinte
ont un profondeur moyenne de 0,8 1m et ne sont interrompus que par le
plan inclin de l'entre dans la partie sud.</font></p>
<p style="text-indent: 30" align="justify"><font size="2">A une vingtaine de mtres au sud de l'entre de
l'enceinte, un nouveau talus avec foss extrieur s'tire sur une
grande longueur (100m?) selon une orienttation parallle au talus sud
de l'enceinte (ONO - ESE) et rejoint une zone visiblement aplanie. </font></p>

forts. Il semble donc que si Berluhec veut bien dire 'l'endroit o
abondent les digitales", un endroit peupl de digitales ne
correspond pas ncessairement des vestiges archologiques...</font></td>

espces vgtales rpandues sur le site, du buis que l'on retrouve
sur de longues lignes. Il existe dans la fort une alle dite
"Alle des grands buis" qui conduit proximit d'un lieu
occup par les romains (restes de thermes ?) et une stle basse
hmisphrique de l'Age du fer, tous deux signals par une panneau
