<p style="text-align:justify">La
reconstitution de ce monument est une chance : bris, une de ses
parties se tenait cot de la Montagne de Justice (Lann
Justis, non loin de Lomarec), lautre servait de banc de jardin au
Plessis-Kaer. rige depuis longtemps dans la cour du Chteau
Gaillard Vannes, la stle est en ce moment remise, donc non
visible, pour cause de travaux.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="mso-tab-count:1">
</span>Dune hauteur apprciable de 2,7 m, la
pierre na pas la belle rgularit de surface que lon observe
habituellement sur les stles de lAge du Fer, mais peut-tre est-ce
du aux incidents quelle a subis.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="mso-tab-count:1">
</span>Le dessin de la croix est compos de
contours courbes pour les bras horizontaux, droits pour les bras
verticaux. Elle est surmonte dun piquet portant deux pancartes (?) ;
sur quelques documents du IX<sup>me</sup> sicle linscription <i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal">christus</i>
figure en tte dune croix, un usage plus ancien serait
rechercher. La face oppose de la stle est grave dune croix hampe
pratiquement identique, sans prolongement suprieur ni accompagnement
dinscription.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="mso-tab-count:1">
</span>Sous la rfrence M1, le CIPS situe lpigraphe
aux VII<sup>me</sup>/ VIII<sup>me</sup> sicles. Ceci donne un repre
danciennet au modle de croix associ : le texte a pu tre
incis aprs la croix, mais pas avant au vu de la manire dont il est
dispos.</p>

</span>Dans linscription figure le nom Heranhal
qui se lit aussi sur la stle de Kervily II.6.</p>

</span>La stle situe proximit de
listhme daccs la presqule de Locoal (commune de
Locoal-Mendon) en compagnie dun grle calvaire pourrait porter le
nom du lieu, Pen Pont, mais elle se dsigne delle-mme par
linscription qui y est insre : Croix Prostlon .</p>
<p> <span style="mso-tab-count:1">
</span>Certaines stles de lAge du Fer sont tailles en forme de
colonne, mais elles sont peu prsentes dans le Morbihan. Sur celle-ci
le bourrelet en relief prs du sommet apparat comme un lment
encore plus rare. Une telle pierre a pu se faire remarquer trs tt
comme support de christianisation (hauteur 2,06 m).</p>

pratiquement identiques lune lautre et dun trac typique de
ce que lon voit sur les stles de notre groupe. </p>

une frise et deux bandeaux verticaux sont dun style compltement
diffrent : gravures pouvant tre juges carolingiennes ou pr-romanes.
Il convient de considrer que la dcoration de cette stle a t
effectue en deux stades loigns dans le temps.Le CIPS donne linscription une
datation plausible IX<sup>me</sup> / X<sup>me</sup> sicle, se
basant sur la nature des caractres et sur lexistence avre
dune femme de haut rang du nom de Prostlon<sup>6</sup>.<a href="#DOUZE STELES"><img border="0" src="images/Dar_ger.gif" align="right" width="13" height="13"></a><!--mstheme--></font></td>

</span>Cette stle est adosse un angle de la
chapelle Sainte Anne, en bord de route la sortie du bourg de
Branderion, direction Hennebont. Elle est relativement basse (hauteur
1,15 m), aux artes trs adoucies</p>

</span>Sur deux de ses faces, contigus, on relve
des gravures de croix assez rodes. Il ny a pas dinscription
visible. Le grand intrt de cette stle est que les deux croix,
toutes les deux pattes et hampes, sont de style diffrent et mme
de techniques de gravure diffrentes.</p>

</span>Lune des croix est grave en creux et
hampe fine, comme celles observes sur les deux stles dcrites
ci-dessus et les deux suivantes. Le pourtour des bras de la croix est
form de segments lgrement incurvs.Lautre est grave au simple trait creus
en contour. La hampe est courte, assez large. Le dessin parat moins
recherch que pour la croix en creux.</p>

</span>Il ne semble pas concevable que ces deux motifs aient t raliss
simultanment. Aucun lment sur cette seule stle ne permet de

<p align="justify"> Langonbrach est un
village chapelle de la commune de Landaul, situ entre la route
quatre voies et le fond de la ria dEtel. La stle trne au milieu
de la place-carrefour du village ; il semble quelle ne se soit
pas loigne de son lieu dorigine puisque dans linscription
quelle porte figure le nom de Combracus vraisemblablement li au
toponyme : Lan Combrac(.) devenant Langonbrach,
le prfixe Lan dsignant une implantation religieuse.
Un sarcophage de type mdival<sup>7</sup> est actuellement visible
dans la chapelle toute proche. Linscription de la stle (voir
louvrage CISP sous M4) est de nature votive. Il parat donc probable
quun cimetire ait occup le site durant le haut Moyen Age.</p>
<p align="justify"><span style="mso-tab-count:1"> </span>La
stle mesure en hauteur 1,68 m ; dun modle classique
section rectangulaire, lune de ses artes est corne. La partie
suprieure de la pierre a t casse et recolle ; la gravure
dune croix figurant sur la seule face orne est fort endommage par
cette cassure, et le dessin en est difficile reconstituer. Un trac
mticuleux sur photo permet de retrouver le contour de la croix sadaptant
aux crosses encore visibles graves ses huit angles (les gravures
nettement apparentes sont reprsentes en trait continu sur la figure
ci-dessous).</p>
<p align="justify"><span style="mso-tab-count:1">
</span>Des crosses sont visibles galement au
pied de la hampe. En haut la croix est domine par un motif ressemblant
une pioche ou un outil utilis par les charpentiers ou les
tailleurs de pierre, l<i style="mso-bidi-font-style:
normal">ascia</i> romain ; rminiscence dun symbolisme antique ?</p>
<p align="justify"><span style="mso-tab-count:1">
</span>La croix elle-mme est beaucoup plus en
creux que les enjolivures laccompagnant, sans donner clairement
limpression de deux tapes de gravure comme sur la stle Prostlon
II.2.</p>
<p align="justify"><span style="mso-tab-count:1">
</span>Lpitaphe est date par le CIPS :
fin VIII<sup>me</sup> ou IX<sup>me</sup> sicle.</p>
<p align="justify"> <span style="mso-tab-count:1">
</span>Parmi nos douze stles, il ny a que celle de Langonbrach o
la croix est accompagne de crosses aux extrmits des bras. Cette
particularit se prsente ailleurs : sur la photo ci-contre
dune dalle byzantine dAsie Mineure, on voit figurer ces
barbillons. Cela donnerait une origine orientale au motif.<!--mstheme--></font></td>

</span>La croix est patte mais branches fines. La hampe slargit
rgulirement vers le bas. Ces caractristiques sloignent
quelque peu des normes des croix prsentes aux paragraphes prcdents.
Une localisation hors de la frontire du Pou Belz expliquerait-elle une
influence diffrente, par exemple celle des moines de Saint Gunal ?Lanalyse
de lpigraphe mene par Louis Goulpeau le conduit la faire
remonter au VII<sup>me</sup> ou VIII<sup>me</sup> sicle. Tout
porte croire, comme il le souligne, que le nom Ramlio
qui y figure porte la marque dune famille venue de Cornouaille.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="mso-tab-count:1">
</span>La destination de nos stles nest pas souvent vidente :
accompagnement dune tombe, repre de limite territoriale, marque
dun lieu de rencontre? Linscription fait ici penser une spulture
et lemplacement un bornage du domaine du monastre de Saint Gunal.
Les deux rles ont pu tre jous successivement.</p>

Stle de <a name="Kervily">Kervily</a></font></b>

<p align="justify"> On sait que cette stle tait
autrefois situe au village de Kervily en Languidic. Elle est place
actuellement dans un parc priv la pointe de Kerzo en Port-Louis,
visible depuis la rade. <span style="mso-tab-count:1">C'est un modle
typique de stle haute de section presque carre artes verticales
trs adoucies. Sa hauteur est de 1,68 m</span></p>
<p align="justify"> </p>
<p align="justify"> Le mode de sculpture de la croix et de
sa hampe est original : le motif nest pas bord dun simple
trait en gorge, mais en faux relief . Cest--dire que
la gorge, abrupte du cot du motif, est en pente douce du cot sen
cartant, jusqu rejoindre 5 ou 10 cm la surface plane de la
pierre. Dans une taille en vrai relief toute la face concerne aurait
t travaille pour faire ressortir le sujet sur une surface entirement
aplanie.La croix est particulire dans sa forme : les bras sont
dessins traits droits, implants dans un cercle central. La hampe
